I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more drop-dead gorgeous couple in all my life! I photographed this beautiful formal session just as the sun was setting over the sweeping staircases and marble columns of the Utah State Capitol Building. The couple met here in Utah, although the bride is originally from Palestine, and the groom is from Iran. As a world traveler, I loved spending the evening learning about their love and their culture and enjoying all of the beautiful golden light surrounding us.
The two of them have never had photos taken before so they were understandably a bit nervous. However, it wasn’t long before they were both giggling and laughing through the entire session. There was obviously nothing to worry about! They ended up looking like professional models and were absolutely glowing in the light of the sunset. Their love for each other was apparent so natural smiles were easy to come by. Happiness just poured out of the two of them when they were together!
The couple requested a classic black tie look full of elegance. Naturally, the gorgeous architecture and neutral backdrop of the Utah State Capitol immediately came to mind. The bride was absolutely stunning in her wedding dress! It was so pretty and modern with intricate beading and lace that is traditional for Middle Eastern weddings gowns. I also loved her jewelry and sparkling headpiece. Throw in her long veil with beading along the edges and I’m sold! The groom wore a classic black tuxedo with a black bow tie and pocket square. You really can never go wrong with the classic look. It is timeless and will look amazing ten, twenty and even fifty years from now. When in doubt, wear the bow tie! Feel free to print that on a t-shirt.
