Although a lot of people may not immediately think of Utah when they think of a destination wedding, I think it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world to get married! Zion National Park, with its spectacular views and stunning red rock landscapes, is the perfect place for an adventurous destination elopement. Amanda and Marcus evidently thought so, too. Even though they are not from Southern Utah, they traveled there along with their closest family members to tie the knot surrounded by nature. It was the perfect choice for this outdoorsy, fun-loving couple.
This small, intimate wedding had under twenty guests present. The bride and groom wanted only their parents, siblings and grandparents with them on their special day. It made the celebration that much more meaningful. It was really just about two families coming together to support the happy couple and to become one big family!
The ceremony location showcased the beautiful scenery as Amanda and Marcus exchanged heartfelt vows. My favorite moment was definitely when they brought out roasting sticks and made s’mores to share with each other while the ceremony was in progress! It just goes to show how fun and adventurous the two of them are together. They’re not afraid to be themselves. It’s easy to see why a destination elopement in the desert was just right for them and their relationship.
When Amanda and Marcus contacted me about photographing their wedding, they confessed that they had been following me on social media for the past two years. I knew immediately that they were my kind of people who would be up for anything. After the ceremony, the three of us went on a 45-minute hike along Overlook Trail to enjoy the stunning view from the top and get some gorgeous photos. Marcus was a perfect gentleman, helping the bride with her wedding dress and carrying her bouquet. The trail was pretty busy with other hikers enjoying the park. We did get a lot of stares. The grand vista we were greeted with was definitely worth the climb! Zion National Park is an amazing place not to be missed!
I also had the pleasure of shooting Marcus and Amanda’s wedding video. You can watch it at the bottom of this post!
