Chriss and John’s wedding took place at River Bottoms Ranch. It was an elegantly styled event with chic and modern details that showcased the couple’s impeccable style. For Chrissy, the day began in the luxurious bridal suite at River Bottoms Ranch. With her bridesmaids by her side, Chrissy was gifted a stunning Cartier ring.
Working with my couples during the getting ready process is such a beautiful way to cherish those sacred final moments before they meet down the aisle. During this time, the mood is often that of joyful anticipation for the day ahead. And, typically, as they are getting ready the morning of their wedding they choose to exchange gifts or personal letters. The remainder of the day can feel like a whirlwind of timeline events. But being present in those private moments, for just a second longer, and soaking it all in, is what makes the difference between feeling ‘like it all flew by‘ and being able to relive the precise feeling of that moment, time and time again.
Summer Wedding at River Bottoms Ranch in Utah
My bride and groom opted to have a more traditional wedding day, without a first look. Instead, before the start of their ceremony, I worked with them and the respective members of their wedding party on portraits that highlight the scenic grounds of River Bottoms Ranch. With the bridesmaids in silk champagne gowns, the summer sun highlighted the elegant color palette that was carefully curated for the day.
River Bottoms Ranch is an indoor/outdoor wedding venue in Utah. This allows couples to exchange vows on the sweeping lawn before heading inside the Gambrel Barn for a reception celebration. Chrissy and John held an al fresco wedding ceremony on the spacious lawn of the venue. Here, as they became husband and wife, views of the river valley and peaks of Mt. Timpanogos surrounded them in every direction. Once they were pronounced I took my bride and groom for a leisurely walk around the grounds to capture their wedding portraiture. We stopped for a moment at the white wooden bridge that connects the lake. Their wedding portraiture at River Bottoms Ranch was every bit as elegant and chic as the details of their day. But, above all, it allowed them a few private moments alone, before heading to the Gambrel Barn to enjoy their wedding reception celebration.

Inside the Gambrel Barn (a modern farmhouse-style reception space) long rows of guest tables awaited. They were outfitted with sheer table runners, white and pink floral arrangements, and glowing taper candles in glass votives. The air was sweet with the smell of summer. Furthermore, the mood was light and vibrant as guests began to pour in to celebrate Chrissy and John. The night was complete when Chrissy changed into a fun sparkly reception dress.
