If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve definitely seen the dress from this gorgeous wedding inspiration shoot. It’s a dress I’ll never forget by couture wedding dress designer YSA Makino. I have had the privilege of photographing a lot of stunning wedding gowns during my career, but this one is probably my favorite. The floral embellishment details and embroidery over the flowy fabric was the perfect combination to make our bride look like she walked straight out of a fairytale.
Wedding inspiration shoots are always so much fun to be a part of. They give me the chance to showcase special details to inspire future brides and grooms for their own weddings. Every couple deserves a dream wedding. I hope sharing photos like this will help inspire their choices for their own fairytale day.
Nature was the biggest inspiration for this shoot. We wanted it to feel very intimate and private. Everything was inspired by nature from the floral invitation suite to the canopy of greenery above the reception table. The flat lays were styled with leaves and flowers. I loved the simple but impactful tablescape set up for the bridal party on the patio of the venue. The color scheme was fresh and unique with small touches of purple. The hue was a bit unexpected and fun to experiment with.
My photography style is very European, whimsical, light and airy. I really wanted to show that with these images. Although this venue is located in the United States, it is French-inspired. It reminds me of the architecture and details found in France or Italy. As a world traveler, these are the types of things I love to photograph the most. Every frame I shot could have easily been taken in Paris or Rome. It’s exciting to see this style be available to local brides and grooms without having to travel abroad.
