This wedding day makes me smile every time I look through the photos. The bride and groom were so happy and excited! It was apparent that everyone in attendance was so overjoyed for the two of them and the start of their happily ever after.
Larinda and Sam are both nuclear physicists. The two of them went to school together which is where they met. To say that this is a cerebrally-gifted couple would be putting it mildly. They are two self-proclaimed nerds at heart and will openly admit it to anyone. They infused a little bit of their nerdy side into the design of their wedding with details like the symbols for different elements of the periodic table in the centerpieces.
I especially loved the personalized touches the bride and groom chose, like their sand ceremony. Each member of the family took turns pouring either white or black sand into a jar. It’s a beautiful tradition symbolizing unity and the coming together of two families into one new family.
Larinda and Sam wanted their wedding decor to be very bright, happy and summery. There were sunflowers everywhere with accents of red and orange wildflowers mixed in. The stunning flower-adorned arch over the ceremony site completely stopped me in my tracks! Walking into the venue was like stepping into a summertime fairytale. The decor felt whimsical but also included touches that complimented the rustic setting of Millcreek Inn. Nestled in the mountains of Millcreek Canyon near Salt Lake City, I really love the intimate feel of this venue.
In addition to its beauty, this wedding also included some of the sweetest moments between the bride and groom and their families. The bride chose to share a special dance with her son during the reception. There was not a dry eye in the room. The wedding party was small, consisting of Larinda’s son and daughter and Sam’s brother, his best man. The happy couple spent the entire day with smiles on their faces. I have no doubt their marriage will be a happy one.
