I first met Valtteri in a hostel in Vietnam. He and I were roommates and toured the country together, bonding over a love of pho. He even came to visit me in Utah where I got to show him around my hometown. When he proposed to the lovely Ksenia, I got to travel to Finland where the two of them live to photograph their destination engagement session.
The couple lives in Helsinki but decided to travel a little ways outside the city for their engagement photos since it was a balmy -30 degrees there at the time. We rode the ferry for about two hours to the nearby town of Tallin, Estonia. It’s a tiny little place in Eastern Europe where we enjoyed slightly warmer temperatures of just under zero degrees. I was absolutely freezing, but it was completely worth it! We spent the whole day walking around the charming village, enjoying the food and taking in the view of the stunning cathedral. This day felt more like a play or date session than an engagement session. We took photos all day as we toured around. I had a wonderful time with the bride and groom-to-be.
