There are many parts of a wedding day that are so fun to capture with both candid moments and natural poses. Some of the moments I love best are during the “getting ready” photos. The excitement and anticipation for the upcoming ceremony is palpable as the bride and groom prepare to celebrate with their closest friends and loved ones. As a photographer, I love that this time gives me a chance to capture the bride’s dress, the invitations, the rings, and all of the other special details. Christy and Manny also exchanged gifts with their bridal party and celebrated before the ceremony with a champagne toast. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were so supportive and excited for the happy couple!
You might remember Christy and Manny from their engagement session at the Utah State Capitol Building. The two of them have two adorable kids together who were part of the bridal party. They opted for a traditional Catholic ceremony at a gorgeous cathedral in Logan, Utah. This college town is located in the beautiful Cache Valley at the very northern part of Utah. It has a small-town feel without being too rural. The cathedral had gorgeous sunshine pouring in from all sides through big windows giving it a bright and light feel. I loved the atmosphere and I hope I get to shoot there again soon.
The reception that evening was quite a party! Christy and Manny included some Mexican traditions throughout the evening that were a lot of fun. They also served Mexican food for their guests like tacos, beans and rice. Their wedding cake was horchata flavored, and it was really delicious! The bride and groom and their guests danced and partied all night long. The festivities lasted until 1 am! Everyone was so happy to be together celebrating the marriage of such a wonderful couple.
