The most breathtaking engagement & wedding photography locations in Utah Canyon.

I’ve put together a list of my three favorite photography locations in Utah Canyon including everything you’ll need to know ahead of your session! You’ll find directions, daily fees, what to expect, and how to schedule your session for each of these amazing locations. Keep reading for more.

Millcreek Canyon Engagement Photos

One of the most amazing locations for Utah Canyon engagement photography is Millcreek Canyon. Located north of Provo, and east of Salt Lake City, Millcreek Canyon provides the most picturesque views of the canyon for engagement and wedding photography.

Who It’s For | Couples who are dreaming about engagement photos with gorgeous views of the Wasatch Mountains off in the distance. Do you want to include your fur baby in your Millcreek Canyon Engagement photos? Four-legged friends are allowed! On even numbered days, your dog must be on a leash in all areas of the canyon. On odd-numbered days, dogs are allowed off-leash on trails.

Visiting | The winter gate closes every year on November 1st, we will need to schedule your session prior to this date.

Fees | There is a daily fee associated with visiting Millcreek Canyon, the current price is $5 per day.

Getting There | Located outside of Salt Lake, here’s how you can get to Millcreek Canyon. Take I-215 South from I-80. Take exit 4 off of I-215 and go left (east) on 3900 South. Turn left on Wasatch Blvd just after crossing under the highway, then take the next right on Millcreek Canyon Road.

Parking | There are several places to park when accessing Millcreek Canyon for your photoshoot. I will go over where can meet when we schedule your session.

Because Millcreek Canyon is closed from November 1st until late spring, winter engagement photos are not possible. The upside is that the canyon comes to life in the spring and summer months! It’s a beautiful landscape of scenery that includes a rainbow of foliage and the most amazing glowing light. This allows us to create a dreamscape of engagement photos for you to look back on for a lifetime.

Provo Canyon Wedding Photos

Provo Canyon is one of those Utah photography locations that is gorgeous, year-round! It’s true that there is something truly special about visiting Provo Canyon when the wildflowers are in bloom. But, overall, the landscape has that added touch of romance no matter when you visit. The air is electric with possibility and the view is breathtaking.

Who It’s For | Provo Canyon is one of those locations that couples flock to for a touch of whimsy with heavy scenes of landscape for their photography experience.

Visiting | One of my favorite times to work with my couples on engagement and wedding photography in Provo Canyon, has to be summer! Your experience will come with the added bonus of experiencing the wildflowers while they are in bloom. If you are set on experiencing the wildflowers, I highly recommend scheduling your session for July or August.

Fees | There are two sets of fees associated with visiting Provo Canyon. The summer fee and the winter fee. Summer months are considered April – October and come with a rate of  $20 per vehicle or $5 per person to walk in. Winter months are considered November – March and come with a rate of $10 per vehicle or $4 per person to walk in.

Getting There | Provo Canyon is located in Utah Valley. Here’s how you can get there! From Interstate 15 Take Exit 284 in the Highland/Lehi area. Continue east on State Route 92. From there you’ll arrive at American Fork Canyon, here you will pay a $3 toll to access the road.

If at all possible, I highly recommend scheduling your engagement or wedding portraits in July or August so that we can take advantage of the gorgeous wildflowers while they are in bloom. However, the canyon is just as beautiful during the non-wildflower months as well!

Snow Canyon Utah Wedding Photos

Another gorgeous location in Utah Canyon for engagement or wedding photos is Snow Canyon. You’ll be met with incredible views in every direction and the tones of the landscape are unmatched. You’ll find earthy shades of red against a sprawl of sagebrush. Paired with your formal wedding day attire, Snow Canyon creates a lush backdrop for the most amazing photography experience.

Who It’s For | Couples who are searching for photography locations in Utah Canyon that provide a rich tapestry of vibrant earthy tones.

Visiting | Snow Canyon is a designated trail park, so some walking during your session will be required. If you plan on wearing your wedding shoes, I highly carry them in while wearing something more comfortable until we arrive at your desired backdrop.

Fees | Snow Canyon State Park charges vehicles a rate of $10/ per day and pedestrians a rate of $5/per day.

Getting There |  Snow Canyon is located in Southern Utah near Saint George. Here are directions whether you are coming north or southbound. From I-15 north, take exit 6 (Bluff Street). Head north on Bluff Street to the intersection with Snow Canyon Parkway. Turn left onto Snow Canyon Parkway, proceed approximately 3.5 miles, and turn right onto Snow Canyon Drive. This road will lead you to the south entrance of the park. Coming south from  I-15, take exit 10 (Washington). Turn right off the ramp then an immediate left at the light. Follow this road for approximately 5 miles to the intersection with Bluff Street. Proceed through the light and continue on Snow Canyon Parkway for approximately 3.5 miles and turn right onto Snow Canyon Drive. This road will also lead you to the south entrance of the park.

Scheduling Your Wedding Photos at Snow Canyon

A pass is required to capture engagement or wedding photos at Snow Canyon Utah, but this requirement pertains to photographers only. Additionally, Snow Canyon does require that we schedule the time of your engagement or wedding photography with the park at least five days in advance. Following our initial conversation, we will work out a time along with a park scheduling that works best for you.
