Are you searching for the best photo spots in Park City Utah for your engagement & wedding portraits? I’ve created a complete guide of the three, most amazing locations that Park City has to offer. Keep reading for more!

Albion Basin

Nothing short of magical, first on the list of the best photo spots in Park City is Albion Basin. It is located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon and perched high above the ski resorts of Alta and Snowbird. That’s over 9,500 feet of elevation with breathtaking views of geological structures and wildlife. You’ll find over 120 species of flowers with tram rides to the alpine flowers in the summer months from the Snowbird Ski Resort.

Visiting Albion Basin | Albion Basin is one of the most amazing outdoor photo spots in Park City Utah. It lies at the heart of the Wasatch Mountains and is known for its trails, wildflowers, idyllic views, and wildlife.

Fees | There is a $10 fee associated with accessing Albion Meadow Trails. However, we can access Cecret Lake from the Albion Base trail for free.

Directions | Albion Basin is located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. From the east side of Salt Lake City take I-215 to the 6200 South off-ramp. Drive south following the road signs to Alta Ski Resort.

Parking |  Parking is limited at Albion Base and consists of two dirt parking lots. Parking in any non-approved areas will result in a ticket or towing.

Scheduling Your Session

I highly recommend scheduling your engagement or wedding portraits at Albion Base in July! The wildflowers are in full bloom and create a beautifully vibrant meets whimsical backdrop for your photo shoot.

To avoid foot traffic and sightseers, I like to work with my couples at sunrise or sunset. Capturing your photos during this time frame ensures a few things.

The first is parking. Next is less foot traffic. Which equals more space for us to work, and for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera without onlookers nearby. Lastly, is the best light you will ever see! Sunrise and sunset produce that magic, unforgettable, glow that creates luxe, heirloom-quality photos for you to look back on for a lifetime!

River Bottoms Ranch

River Bottoms Ranch is a stunningly elegant indoor/outdoor barn wedding venue with mountain views and a backdrop of the Provo River. Yes, technically it is a wedding and special events venue, but it is also an amazing location for capturing photos (more on that below!). The barn is all white and reflects light in a way that produces timeless imagery. It is an absolute dream to work with my couples at this location. Between the whitewashed barn and the luxurious grounds, all in all, providing stunning views in every direction.

Visiting River Bottoms Ranch | River Bottoms Ranch is a wedding venue in Park City, but it’s also one of the best photo spots in Park City! You do not have to plan your wedding at River Bottoms Ranch in order to visit for a photo shoot. However, if you are visiting River Bottoms Ranch with the sole purpose of capturing engagement or wedding portraits, a reservation will be required.

Fees | The fees currently listed on the River Bottoms Ranch website are associated with weddings. For more information on photography-only fees, please contact me directly so I can provide you with the most up-to-date rates.

Directions | River Bottoms Ranch is about a 20-minute drive from historic Main Street in Park City and about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City.

Scheduling Your Session

Keeping in mind that River Bottoms Ranch is a wedding and event venue, I recommend a weekday photo shoot. This will give us the most flexibility in creating a variety of portraits by taking advantage of the various outdoor spaces. All without interrupting another couple’s nuptials.

The Lodge at Blue Sky

The Lodge at Blue Sky is part of the renowned Auberge Resorts Collection. Open year-round, the Lodge at Blue Sky is also a wedding venue that doubles as one of the best photo spots in Park City Utah. It is nestled between the mountains in absolute seclusion with views of the untouched wilderness in every direction. The Lodge at Blue Sky is also a luxurious hotel. If you’re thinking about capturing your engagement photos there, I highly recommend booking a room as well to make a mini staycation out of your shoot!

Scheduling Your Session

Because weddings typically take place on the weekends, I highly recommend working with me to schedule a weekday photo shoot. Scheduling during the week allows us to take advantage of the grounds without worrying about running into a special event taking place.
