Next, you will need to schedule an appointment with the temple. The temple prefers that you schedule an appointment; however, those without an appointment are still welcome. But if you do arrive without an appointment, expect to wait a bit longer.
During your appointment, you can expect the temple to schedule your sealing ceremony to take place on your chosen day during mid-morning hours. But, if you are planning a ring exchange or reception celebration to follow your Mount Timpanogos Temple Wedding, you may be able to request your sealing to take place later in the afternoon (after 2 pm).
In total, Mount Timpanogos Temple offers 8 sealing rooms, with the largest room able to accommodate up to 60 guests. In order to be admitted to your sealing, each guest will, of course, require a temple recommend.
Mount Timpanogos Temple does allow brides to wear their wedding dress in the sealing room. But the gown must meet the following temple requirements.
- Wedding dress must be white
- Bridal gown must be modest in design as well as fabric [high neckline, cover knees & shoulders]
- Dress must have long sleeves or three-quarter length sleeves
- Bridal gown must cover temple garments
- Wedding dress must not feature any ornamentation (pearls, gems, etc.)
- Trains are typically not allowed unless it can be bustled or removed entirely
Additionally, although these are the standard requirements, it will be important for you to check with your specific temple prior to shopping for your bridal gown.
Lastly, wedding flowers! Mount Timpanogos Temple does not allow fresh, live flowers within the temple. In order to coordinate your exit with a bouquet in hand or a boutonniere pinned, you will need to coordinate a person of trust with your florist. Someone who can hold onto these items for you and slip them your way just before both doors of the temple swing open after your sealing.
Mount Timpanogos Temple Pictures
Photography and videography are not allowed inside the temple. Typically, the LDS couples I capture look forward to that coveted moment when the doors of the temple swing open after their sealing.
Their friends and family are patiently waiting to wish them well, showering them with hugs and smiles. I know the weight of importance this moment holds. But I also know that temple sealings (sometimes) do not run according to schedule. To capture that big moment with everyone you love, it is important to ask your guests to arrive around 30 minutes after the start of your sealing time. Your sealing will typically take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, and this will give me time to prepare everyone while ensuring the doorway and surrounding areas are clear and ready for your arrival.
After all the smiles and congratulations have subsided, we’ll work on Mount Timpanogos Temple wedding pictures in different pairings. Usually, in this order:
- Extended family
- Friends
- Close family members (parents, siblings)
- Wedding party
- Bride and Groom
This order will allow your guests to head off to your reception and get the festivities started. Additionally, this structure will give you added time with your wedding party and each other, so you can savor the moment and be present before leaving the temple grounds.
